For creators and consumers of the arts… VINCO provides a platform that fosters collaboration and supports the growth of the diverse Chicago art scene.
VINCO Creative, was originally founded by Michael Panico, Jaylen Prater, and Dwight White. Three former student athletes at Northwestern University, all of whom had their careers cut short by injuries. With such large gaps to fill in their lives, each managed to find their own solace in art. Dwight became a passionate, self-taught artist and painter. Michael began studying film and pursuing a career as a filmmaker. Jaylen started writing original music and performing at iconic venues in the Chicago-land area. Sharing a common story and appreciation for how much art can impact the world, the three came together to form VINCO Chicago.
In the Spring of 2018, Matt ‘Hobart’ Miller met Michael through working in the local film industry and joined the VINCO team. Hobart began shooting and editing videos for the athletic teams while studying at the University of Illinois and has been writing and producing music with his group, ‘EMPATH’, since moving back to Chicago in 2017.
Derived from the combination of two Latin root words –VIN meaning “conquer”, and –CO meaning “together”. VINCO provides local and aspiring artists with the resources to have their work seen or heard. Aside from these services, VINCO is a cultural hub for Chicago Art; promoting aspiring artists whether it is music, film, dance or visual art. For creators and consumers of the arts, VINCO provides a platform that fosters collaboration and supports the growth of the diverse Chicago art scene.
